Well, the birds and the neighbors are starting to return to Jojoba Hills.
The quail that have been around all summer seem to suddenly becoming mature and sporting a more adult plumage. There are several varieties of finches, and a couple of large thrashers and blue jays are sparking up the feeders and acacia bushes. There is a Coopers Hawk that occasionally makes an appearance, streaking down from above to frighten the birds into the bushes. He/she must be making some kills, because we sometimes see stray feathers blowing across our patio.
Several neighbor rigs have made it back, and we hear of several more on the way in. If they get here soon enough, they will be able to enjoy the delightful weather we are having. Yes, the temperatures are in the high 80s, but the humidity is in the low 20s, and relaxing on the patio in the evenings and watching the moon progress through the quarter stage is so restful.
My one accomplishment of note was to install LEDs into the footlights of our RV rig. I also wrote and published an article about the power savings involved. Really, it is a matter of not having to change the bulbs every three months.
I said last time I would restart my novel, and I committed to more exercise and weight loss. All that is still on the list of things to get done. Maybe next week.
